Four years ago I married Jack, the love of my life and the only man who could ever keep up with me. Instead of the nice little French Colonial with a white picket fence, we opted to make our home on a 44-foot sailboat called the Kitty Hawk. Since then we have sailed thousands of miles along the coast of Central America, the United States, and The Bahamas. Now we live on a Bahia 46 Fontaine Pajot catamaran exploring Baja California and heading for the big blue Pacific Ocean.
In early 2010 we were on our way to the South Pacific when I got seasick while we were crossing the Panama Canal. This seemed a bit odd since there weren’t any waves. Turns out there was a specific name for what I had – it’s called morning sickness! We turned the boat around, headed back to our nearest family and Marietta Grace was born in Honduras on October 21, 2010. Later, while visiting my sister in Washington, DC, in the summer of 2011, I felt a familiar twinge. This time it didn’t take me long to realize it wasn’t seasickness; Jack Benjamin was born on May 15, 2012.
Our family of four is always ready for the next adventure and we’re never quite sure where it will take us. Oh, the places we have yet to go!
